Meet the Owners
Born and raised in Illinois, brothers Eric and Karl relocated to New Hampshire with their parents in 1977. Their shared pastime is fresh-water fishing, including ice fishing in the frigid New Hampshire winters. It’s just for fun and friendly competition though—they throw them all back, after counting and measuring of course.
Many of their fondest memories include fishing and golfing with their late father, Herman. A former businessman, Herm was an integral partner in the formation of PHYTEK and valued consultant for many years.
Today, Eric and Karl are proud to continue their journey that began more than 30 years ago as a trusted name in custom laminate, cabinet and woodworking products for their customers, and a downright awesome employer to their hardworking team.
Fun Fact: PHYTEK was named using the first initials of the founders and their wives: Patty, Herman, Yvonne, Terry, Eric and Karl.

Eric Wiegelman
A self-taught musician, when Eric isn’t busy running the shop, he loves a good solo guitar session in the quiet of his home in Hooksett, NH, where he and his wife, Patty, raise their affectionate feline fur babies, Cooper and Marshall.
Both involved in the family business, Eric and Patty are mindful to set time aside to connect. On a Saturday evening, you’re likely to find the couple relaxing in their hot tub with a glass of wine in hand or reclining in their backyard sanctuary surrounded by birds and other wildlife.
In addition to strumming his guitar in his spare time, Eric thoroughly enjoys playing vinyl records in his music room or working on scale aircraft and automobiles.
As someone who also likes to take in the sights and sounds of the great outdoors, kayaking, hiking and cycling are tops on his list of favorite activities.

Karl Wiegelman
An avid weightlifter since his early teens, Karl loves to come home to a good workout after a long day running the shop. His in-home gym (affectionately branded “Karl’s Gym” by his wife, Terry) is his basement sanctuary at their home in Dunbarton, NH, where they raise their adorable pit-lab rescue, Summer.
As a couple, Karl and Terry enjoy an occasional date night with dinner and a movie, but most weekends you’ll find them eagerly working on the next home project.
While PHYTEK is his pride and joy, it hasn’t been Karl’s only business venture. As founder and CMA (Chief Martial Artist) of Chon-Ji Martial Arts and Fitness Center for a rewarding 7 years, Karl brought many of his students up through the black belt ranks with his upbeat and positive approach to teaching. Though you wouldn’t know it from his humble demeanor, Karl is an accomplished 4th Degree Black Belt.
